Property Investment, development and management

The JLL Property Triathlon is now firmly established as the largest one-day event in the UK and has raised over £2m to date for charity. Along with its sister event the Property Swim, this sprint distance triathlon is a great way for people of different ages and abilities to come together and compete side by side – you just need to be in the property industry to be able to compete. This year’s race was located at Dorney lake, with over 3500 contestants!

Candidates begin their training months in advance to prepare their bodies for the challenging race, which begins with a 750m open water swim in the clear waters of the rowing lake, then moves on to hopping on a bike for a 21.2km cycle on a flat tarmac circuit around the lake. Finally, the triathlon ends with a 5km run along the side of the rowing lake on tarmac paths.

Our very own Property Director, Jonathan Dean, took part in this year’s race. He completed it with an impressive time of 1:32:40!

Jonathan has been part of this triathlon for the past 6 years. This year, however, was especially important to him as he has recently recovered from a cycling accident.

For the past 6 months, Jonathan has committed himself to prepping for the challenge, despite working full-time. From running 5km everyday during his lunch break to swimming in the Thames every Saturday morning, his drive to recover in time for the triathlon was inspiring. Although he was extremely proud to have crossed the finish line in good condition this year, Jonathan’s set a new challenge for himself for the 2020 race – to complete the course in under 1:20:00. He’s also hoping to gather a full group of our colleagues here at Peer Group to join in the fun with him!
