The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges to all sectors of the community, and not in the least within the area of education. Concerned about some students being disadvantaged from an absence of IT equipment, for home-learning purposes, local businessman Dave Lewis, owner of The Computer Store within the St Mary Centre, was recently able to contact a former teacher from The Castle School to enquire if his business could help out by providing IT equipment to students who may struggle to afford it.

Mr Lewis stated that the store has being doing relatively well and continued to provide a service during the whole health crisis, and that he wanted to play his part in assisting the local community.

He further added that he would be donating ten refurbished laptops to the Castle School, which will be equipped with Windows 10, webcams and supplied with the same six month warranty as if they had been purchased through the store.
