After a long and begrudging lockdown, during which time members of Peer Group worked from home and faced unprecedented challenges both as a company and a community, we emerged overgrown and excited to return to our splendid office in the iconic Hop Exchange at the beating heart of London Bridge.

Following the easing of lockdown restrictions, we embarked on a team building adventure to Go Ape on a sunny afternoon in Battersea Park. Our latest Regional Property Administrator, Polly McLean, organised the scenic travel arrangements along the River Thames where we marvelled in London’s riverside beauty and received a comprehensive landmark commentary from Property Director Jonathan Dean.

Upon arrival the group was split. Many quaked with growing nerves, while others hopped in anticipation of the soaring heights in the treetop climbing frames. Finally, we attached our harnesses and began our assent; many climbed with feline elegance and others less so – some even boldly attempted the “no hands” approach!

We all had a wonderful time bonding, having spent such a long time apart. While for our new starters Polly, Jack and Sharon, this represented their first outing with the Peer family. Once our climb had ended, we found a quiet spot in the park, unravelled our picnic mats, and enjoyed light refreshments (along with Howard’s favourite pork pies) and watched the sun set over the tall peaks of Battersea’s woodlands.
